• View of Scripture

We believe the Bible consists of Old & New Testament. We believe God’s Word is inspired, infallible, authoritative, sufficient & profitable. It is complete and our final authority for faith & life.

  • Triune God

We believe in One God in Three persons. We believe in the unity and equality of the Godhead. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

  • Deity of Jesus

We believe that Jesus is & always has been God. He remained God while taking on human form. He was physically born of a virgin and though tempted with sin, he lived a sinless life; He was crucified and physically died on the cross. He was buried and was bodily resurrected from the dead on the third day; He ascended to Heaven and is coming again one day.

  • Salvation

We believe people willfully disobeyed, sinned and are separated from God who is holy and pure. We have no ability to reconcile the relationship in of ourselves. Yet, because of God’s love for us & Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection, we can be saved. Salvation is for all who believe. This Salvation cannot be lost; therefore we can have assurance of Salvation in Christ. It is “By grace through faith”. Christ’s atonement for us has reconciled us to God as accomplished through the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

  • Baptism

We believe that water baptism is an important first step of obedience in following Jesus. Believers should be baptized but it does not accomplish Salvation, it is simply a step of obedience.

  • Communion

We believe the Bible teaches the importance of communion as an ordinance found through the example of Christ and reflected in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. As believers in Jesus, we partake in remembrance of Him.

  • Sanctity of Life

The sanctity of life means that humanity is more sacred than the rest of creation. We believe the Bible stands for that reality. We believe the Bible speaks against things that harm the sanctity of life such as abortion, abuse, oppression, human trafficking and many other things which violate the sanctity of life.

  • Unity in Christ

We believe that unity that believers have in Christ should unite us more than anything else. At Village, we may have differing perspectives but we strive to unite around Christ. We believe it is possible to have unify without uniformity.

We invite you to an “Intro to Village” class that meets throughout the year to find out more about Village.

This class is designed to tell you who we are & how you can get connected!

FAQs

  • God is described as all-powerful & all-knowning (Ps 147:5), outside of time (Ex 3:14) and responsible for the creation of everything. At the same time, the Bible says that God gave man a choice (Deut 30:15-19), holding them personally responsible for sins (Ex 20:5) and being unhappy with some of their actions (Numbers 25:3).

The fact that God is sovereign essentially means that He has the power, wisdom, and authority to do anything He chooses within His creation.

  • God-ordained marriage between a man and a woman to become one flesh (Genesis 1:21). Jesus will reference marriage in Mark 10:6-9 as man & woman become one flesh & what God has joined together, let not man separate.

  • The Bible teaches that as a result of the fall of man (Genesis 3:6) every part of man—his mind, will, emotions and flesh—have been corrupted by sin. In other words, sin affects all areas of our being including who we are and what we do. It penetrates to the very core of our being so that everything is tainted by sin and “…all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” before a holy God (Isaiah 64:6).

We believe that all people were created in the image of God and that their subsequent willful sin resulted in physical and spiritual death and in the necessity of a new birth for salvation. We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His Resurrection provide the only ground for salvation.

  • Village is autonomous. We are self-supporting & self-governing. We are a non-denominational church who values Bible teaching, intentional small groups and actively equipping the body for His service. We are led by Pastors & Elders who strive to lead by example and service for the Lord.
