The Lord has promised us there are many people ready to place their faith in Jesus Christ. In Matthew 9:37 the Lord says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field”.
On Easter Sunday someone from your family, a friend or perhaps a co-worker could invite Jesus Christ to be their personal Lord and Savior. They could invite Jesus to forgive and cleanse them from their sin. Easter Sunday could be the Sunday they get assurance of their salvation and assurance of an eternity in heaven. This Easter could be the most important day in their life.
Here are two facts we know from research: 1. Approximately 80,000 people who live in Johnson County do not currently attend a church 2. Eighty-two percent of those who do not attend a church are open to the idea, if someone would invite them.
Here’s my challenge:
- Begin praying today, and each day leading up to Easter Sunday, that God would clearly open the door for you to invite someone to attend church with you this Easter.
- Expect God to open that door for you.
- Pray that they would understand the Gospel Message as it’s presented.
- Consider inviting them to have lunch with you after church and give them the opportunity to ask you questions.
I can think of no greater way for us to Celebrate Easter then to make it all about our family, our friends and our co-workers!
